Supercomputers per capita

53% of the fastest 500 computers in the world are in the United States, followed by China (13%), Japan (6%), the United Kingdom (5%) and France (4%). Rounding out the top 10 are Germany, India, Canada, South Korea and Sweden. These 10 countries account for about 90% of the top 500 supercomputers on Earth. This is fairly predictable, and is closely related to R&D / government expenditures. However, looking at the Top500 List from a per capita perspective yields a very different picture.
